In addition to the conscious strengthening of public awareness of the vision-guided national strategy, devising a planning, assessment and monitoring system, and professionally coordinating key national integration tasks, the Directorate primarily coordinates strategic planning and research tasks.
The Directorate is responsible for preparing decisions on national strategy and national integration tasks. In order to promote the survival and progress of the nation, it draws up proposals and background materials with the cooperation of intellectual, cultural and academic workshops and public thinkers.
In areas which are important from the viewpoint of national strategy and national integration, the Directorate coordinates the cooperation of professional players and consults stakeholders at conferences, workshop forums and in working groups. In tasks related to areas of national strategy it cooperates with the expert and research networks of the Carpathian Basin and national institutions, government players and background institutions.
Its main activities include research to support the Carpathian Homeland Development System aiding the completion of national integration between 2014 and 2020, the preparation of a planning, assessment and monitoring system, the coordination of national strategy and national integration research (e.g. research into Hungarian youth abroad) as well as organising professional conferences (National Strategy Academy, Self-Reliant Village - Sustainable Countryside), collecting good practices and disseminating these in the Carpathian Basin.
