Kárpát-haza Szemle is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal dedicated to the study of Hungarian communities in the Carpathian Region. The journal publishes original research in geography, economics, history, ethnography, sociology, political science, social and cultural anthropology, and related disciplines. Its aim is to promote high-quality research and foster scholarly dialogue on the social, cultural, economic and historical processes shaping the Hungarian communities of the Carpathian Region.
Editorial Board
The journal is supported by an international Editorial Board comprising established scholars from leading research institutions and universities in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Serbia. Reflecting the journal's regional focus, the members represent Hungarian academic communities across the Carpathian Region. The Editorial Board assists in maintaining the journal's academic standards, contributes to its strategic development and supports the editorial process through its professional expertise.
Peer Review
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous double-anonymised peer review process. Each manuscript is evaluated independently by two reviewers with recognised expertise in the relevant field. Publication is subject to favourable recommendations from both reviewers and, where necessary, the satisfactory completion of any revisions requested during the review process. The journal is committed to ensuring an impartial, transparent and academically rigorous evaluation of all submissions.
Editorial Policy and Publication Ethics
The journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality, editorial independence and publication ethics. The Editorial Board operates in accordance with formally adopted Rules of Procedure, which define the responsibilities of the Editor, the Editorial Board and reviewers, together with the principles governing editorial decision-making and quality assurance. The journal promotes transparency, fairness and integrity throughout the editorial and peer review process and adheres to internationally recognised principles of scholarly publishing and research ethics.
Guidelines for Authors
The journal welcomes original scholarly manuscripts throughout the year. Detailed instructions are provided regarding manuscript preparation, formatting requirements, references and citation style (APA), as well as the submission and review process. Authors are encouraged to consult these guidelines carefully before submitting a manuscript.
